I guess I got distracted by vacation and my travelogue sort of petered out. In summary - it was hot, there was good wine, we bought lots. We played lots, Lochlan loved to play in the pool and we loved the condo and were all happy to head home. Mostly. Another week would have been nice, but I'm trying to save some for after Christmas so maybe Darren and I can go some place warm in Jan-Feb. Who knows!
Work is busy - and one thing I'm noticing with a higher profile project is there are lots of political type things going on so things aren't going as well as I had been anticipating - through no fault of my own, so now I'm trying to be excited about whatever direction we're going next even though I also want to bang my head against the wall in frustration. Oh well, it's a long weekend, we'll hang out with friends. drink some wine. play some D&D... (not that I know how or that I think I'll enjoy it, but I promised my friend I'd try it out, so I will. If I don't like it I can always play Rock Band!!)
Lochlan is great - he's that combination of adorable, stubborn, feisty, sneaky, tricky, smart, and charming that makes him the imp he is. I'm trying to spend more time focusing on how great it really is to have him around rather than stress about how he never listens. I've been moderately successful.until he pooped his pants again last night. ARGH!! Seriously, it's not that he can't do it, we've gone a couple of weeks without an incident. It's almost a power struggle. but since it resulted in him going to bed, I hope he figures it out.
I'm headed to San Antonio next week for a long weekend trip with some girlfriends. It's going to be great - and sooooo needed. Even though I am going DIE in the heat. Oh well, I can always hang out by the pool with something cool to drink. That's not so bad either!! I'm looking forward to it - 4 whole days on my own!! As much as I love my boys - there is nothing like hanging out with your girls :-).
